The Pastry Chef will lead the preparation of breads, pastries, desserts and other baked products while maintaining Swissôtel’s quality and presentation standards. Candidates should have professional pastry or bakery experience, preferably in a luxury hotel or high-volume kitchen, along with formal culinary training or equivalent practical experience. Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, recipe control, costing and inventory management is expected. The role requires creativity, attention to detail, leadership and the ability to train and motivate pastry team members. Candidates should be organized, dependable and comfortable working under pressure, including weekends and public holidays. Experience with pre-opening operations would be an advantage.
Swissôtel is an international hospitality brand within Accor, known for combining Swiss-inspired quality, efficiency and wellbeing with contemporary hotel experiences. Its properties typically focus on thoughtful service, comfortable design, wellness and responsible hospitality. Swissôtel Corniche Park Towers Doha is a new hotel project in Qatar’s capital, positioned to serve business travellers, leisure guests and events. As part of Accor, the hotel benefits from global operating standards, training resources, career mobility and an international workforce. A pre-opening pastry chef can expect to contribute to kitchen setup, menu and recipe development, supplier coordination, recruitment or training, food-cost control and the establishment of daily operating procedures. The role offers the opportunity to help shape the pastry department before the hotel welcomes guests.
Qatar is a compact Gulf country on a peninsula rather than an island, with Doha as its main employment and lifestyle centre. Hospitality, aviation, construction, retail, healthcare, education, technology and energy provide many job opportunities, while luxury hotels and restaurants regularly recruit international staff. The culture is welcoming but conservative: modest clothing is advisable, public behaviour should remain respectful, and alcohol is restricted to licensed venues. Doha offers modern malls, museums, beaches, desert excursions and an increasingly active dining scene. Summers are extremely hot, so indoor facilities and air-conditioned transport are important. Most foreign employees need an employer-sponsored work visa and residence permit; the employer normally manages the process after hiring. Before relocating, confirm salary, accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, contract terms and probation conditions. Qatar has no personal income tax on salaries, but living costs vary considerably depending on housing and lifestyle.
