Working in New Zealand

New Zealand offers opportunities in hospitality, tourism, healthcare, construction, agriculture, technology and skilled trades, especially in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Queenstown and regional tourist areas. The culture is generally relaxed, friendly and inclusive, with strong respect for work-life balance, punctuality and practical teamwork. Lifestyle highlights include beaches, hiking, skiing, national parks and easy access to outdoor activities, although housing and living costs can be high in major cities. People relocating for work should check whether they need an Accredited Employer Work Visa, working-holiday visa, skilled residence pathway or another permit. Eligibility depends on nationality, age, occupation, qualifications, salary and employer accreditation. Secure a written job offer, confirm visa conditions, budget for accommodation and healthcare, and arrange an IRD number for tax. New Zealand has two main islands, the North and South Islands, connected by flights and ferries.
