The Front Office Intern supports the reception team with guest arrivals and departures, reservations, check-in and check-out assistance, telephone and email enquiries, payments, and general guest requests. Candidates are typically expected to be studying hospitality, tourism, business, or a related subject, with good spoken and written English. A friendly attitude, professional appearance, strong communication skills, basic computer ability, attention to detail, and genuine interest in guest service are important. The role requires flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays, as well as confidence working in a multicultural hotel environment. Previous hotel experience may be helpful but is not always required.
Mama Shelter Dubai is a lifestyle hotel in the Accor group, combining accommodation, restaurants, bars, events, and social spaces in a lively, design-focused environment. The brand is known for its informal atmosphere, playful interiors, approachable service, and emphasis on creating memorable experiences for both hotel guests and local visitors. Its Dubai property reflects the city’s international character, welcoming guests from many countries and supporting a multicultural hospitality team. Employees generally work in a fast-paced setting where teamwork, energy, creativity, and guest engagement are valued. As part of Accor, Mama Shelter can provide exposure to international hospitality standards, hotel operations, training, and potential career opportunities across a global network of properties.
The United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven emirates, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah, rather than a single island. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, events, finance, and technology offer strong employment opportunities, particularly in Dubai. The culture is multicultural and welcoming, while Islamic traditions influence dress, public behaviour, and religious holidays. Dubai offers modern housing, extensive shopping, international restaurants, beaches, desert activities, and efficient public transport, although accommodation and daily costs can be high. Most foreign employees need an employment residence visa, normally arranged and sponsored by the employer after a formal offer; requirements can include passport checks, medical testing, and document attestation. Interns should confirm whether the employer provides visa sponsorship, accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, or a stipend before relocating. Summer temperatures are extremely hot, so air-conditioned workplaces and careful hydration are important.
