Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven emirates, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi, rather than a single island. It offers strong employment opportunities in aviation, logistics, tourism, retail, construction, finance, technology and healthcare. The culture combines Arab and Islamic traditions with a highly international population; respectful dress, behaviour and religious customs are important. Lifestyle options range from modern city living and shopping to beaches, desert activities and cultural attractions. Summers are extremely hot, while winters are generally warm and pleasant. Most foreign workers need employer-sponsored residence and work visas; employers commonly arrange permits, medical checks and Emirates ID processing after an offer. Relocating employees should budget for housing, transport, health insurance and document attestation. Arabic is the official language, but English is widely used in workplaces. Always confirm salary, accommodation, transport, visa sponsorship and contract terms before accepting a role.
