Typical requirements include a degree or diploma in hospitality, tourism, business or a related field, together with experience in hotel reservations, revenue management, business analysis or front office operations. Strong Excel and reporting skills, numerical confidence, attention to detail and familiarity with hotel property-management or revenue-management systems are expected. The successful candidate should communicate clearly, work well with sales and reservations teams, identify commercial opportunities and make timely recommendations. Flexibility, professionalism and the ability to perform accurately under pressure are important in this role.
Shangri-La is a luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong and known for hotels, resorts and serviced residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international destinations. Its portfolio includes the Shangri-La, Kerry, JEN and Traders brands, serving business and leisure travellers with accommodation, dining, meetings, wellness and recreational experiences. In the Philippines, Shangri-La operates established properties in destinations such as Manila, Cebu and Boracay. The company is recognised for its Asian-inspired service culture, high guest-care standards and emphasis on employee development. Roles commonly involve close cooperation across commercial, rooms, food and beverage, finance and guest-services teams. Employees are generally expected to demonstrate professionalism, cultural awareness, service excellence and a commitment to Shangri-La’s values while delivering commercially effective results.
The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Davao and other resort destinations, with demand in hotels, restaurants, reservations, revenue management, tourism and events. Work culture is generally friendly, relationship-focused and service-oriented; English is widely used in business and hospitality, while Filipino and local languages are common socially. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living in Manila to a more relaxed beach-oriented pace in Boracay or Palawan. Costs are usually lower than in many Western countries, although central Manila and major resort areas can be expensive. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit, commonly an Alien Employment Permit and an appropriate Bureau of Immigration work visa, often a 9(g) pre-arranged employee visa. Confirm current requirements with the employer and Philippine authorities before relocating.
