Shangri-La Group is a Hong Kong-based luxury hospitality company known for its hotels, resorts and distinctive Asian service culture. Founded in 1971, the group operates properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets under brands including Shangri-La, Kerry Hotels, JEN by Shangri-La and Traders. Its hotels typically combine premium accommodation with restaurants, meeting facilities, wellness services and extensive guest amenities. Shangri-La places strong emphasis on gracious hospitality, colleague development, operational excellence and responsible business practices. A role in fire life safety and occupational health and safety would support the group’s commitment to protecting guests, employees, visitors and assets while maintaining compliance with local regulations and the company’s internal standards.
Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in luxury hotels, property management, finance, aviation, retail, technology, healthcare and professional services. The culture blends Cantonese traditions with international influences, and English is widely used in business, although Cantonese is valuable for daily life and local workplaces. Lifestyle options range from excellent restaurants and vibrant neighbourhoods to hiking, beaches, museums and efficient public transport. Hong Kong is compact but expensive, particularly for housing. Overseas professionals generally need an employer-sponsored visa, commonly through the General Employment Policy, with approval based on qualifications, experience, a genuine job offer and market-level pay. Employers often assist with sponsorship and relocation, but candidates should confirm housing, medical coverage, tax, schooling and dependent arrangements before moving. The city has a fast-paced working environment and limited living space, but offers excellent connectivity and access to the wider region.
