Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers a diverse lifestyle across seven emirates, from Dubai and Abu Dhabi’s city hotels to coastal resorts in Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Ajman. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, facilities management and finance provide many job opportunities. UAE culture combines Islamic traditions, Emirati heritage and a highly international expatriate community; respectful dress and conduct are expected. Lifestyle options include beaches, shopping, desert activities, dining and modern entertainment, although summers are extremely hot. Employers normally arrange an employment entry permit, medical examination, Emirates ID and residence visa, with costs usually covered by the company. Relocating candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, insurance, probation terms and annual leave in the offer. Living costs can be high, particularly in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, while staff housing may be available for hotel employees. Public transport is strongest in major cities.
