Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, bars, catering, retail, finance, technology and tourism, particularly for candidates with international hospitality experience. The culture blends Cantonese traditions with global influences; politeness, efficiency and respect for hierarchy are important at work. Life is energetic and convenient, with excellent public transport, busy dining districts, hiking trails, beaches and numerous cultural attractions. Housing is expensive, especially on Hong Kong Island and in central areas, so many workers share apartments or live in Kowloon or the New Territories. Foreign professionals normally require an employer-sponsored employment visa under Hong Kong's relevant admission schemes and must not begin work before approval. Applicants should confirm visa eligibility, medical or document requirements, insurance, salary, service charge and accommodation support before relocating.
