About the employer

Shangri-La Group is a leading luxury hospitality company founded in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts, and related properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international markets. Its portfolio includes the Shangri-La, Kerry, JEN, and Traders brands. The group is known for personalised service, Asian-inspired hospitality, high accommodation standards, and strong food and beverage offerings. Shangri-La properties commonly serve business travellers, leisure guests, groups, and luxury clientele. Employees typically work in a multicultural environment with opportunities for professional development, service training, and international career mobility. In Hong Kong, the company operates prominent luxury hotels and has a long-standing presence in the city’s competitive hospitality and business-travel market.

Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, sales, tourism, finance, retail, technology, and international business. Its culture blends Cantonese traditions with global influences, and English is widely used in professional settings, although Cantonese and Mandarin are valuable advantages. The lifestyle is energetic and convenient, with excellent public transport, diverse dining, shopping, hiking, beaches, and vibrant nightlife. Housing can be expensive, particularly on Hong Kong Island and in central areas, so many workers consider Kowloon or the New Territories. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work visa and must meet immigration and qualification requirements before starting work. Employers often assist with documentation, but candidates should confirm sponsorship, insurance, accommodation, and relocation benefits. Hong Kong’s compact geography and efficient transport make commuting practical, even when living outside the city centre.
