The Senior Corporate Counsel will provide legal advice to Shangri-La on commercial and corporate disputes, litigation, regulatory matters, contracts, risk management and related investigations. The role typically requires a qualified lawyer with substantial post-qualification experience, preferably gained in a leading law firm or an international company. Strong experience in dispute resolution, commercial litigation and handling cross-border matters is expected. The successful candidate should understand Hong Kong law, communicate clearly with senior stakeholders, manage external counsel effectively and provide practical, commercially focused advice. Excellent analytical, negotiation and drafting skills, sound judgment, confidentiality and the ability to work independently across a multinational hospitality group are essential.
Shangri-La Group is a leading luxury hospitality company headquartered in Hong Kong. It operates hotels, resorts and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets under the Shangri-La, Kerry Hotels, JEN by Shangri-La and Traders brands. The group is known for high service standards, distinctive Asian hospitality and a broad portfolio serving luxury, business and leisure travellers. Its corporate functions support a geographically diverse organisation involving hotel operations, development, investments, commercial activities and brand management. Employees typically work in a multicultural environment with opportunities to collaborate across countries and business units. Shangri-La places emphasis on guest experience, integrity, professional development and long-term relationships with colleagues, customers and business partners.
Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in legal services, hospitality, finance, technology, trading, logistics and professional services. The city combines Chinese traditions with international business culture, and English is widely used in corporate workplaces alongside Cantonese and Mandarin. Life is fast-paced, highly connected and convenient, with excellent public transport, diverse restaurants, cultural attractions, beaches and hiking areas. Housing can be expensive, especially in central districts, so many professionals live in Kowloon or the New Territories and commute by MTR. Foreign professionals normally require an employment visa sponsored by their employer, commonly through the General Employment Policy; eligibility depends on qualifications, experience, salary and the role. Employers generally assist with visa applications and relocation arrangements. New arrivals should budget for rent, deposits, insurance, schooling if relevant and initial living costs. Hong Kong is a city rather than a single island, although Hong Kong Island is one of its main areas.
