Working in Singapore

Singapore is a compact, highly developed island city with strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare and international business. Its hospitality sector is multicultural and service-oriented, with English widely used at work. Life is convenient, safe and well connected through an efficient MRT and bus network. Employees can enjoy diverse food, shopping, parks, beaches, museums and easy travel around Southeast Asia, although rent and daily expenses can be high. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work pass. Hospitality professionals may qualify for an S Pass or Employment Pass depending on salary, qualifications, experience and current government criteria; approval is not automatic. Employers usually guide successful candidates through the application process. Before relocating, applicants should confirm housing costs, medical coverage, working hours, benefits and whether the employer provides staff accommodation or transport. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain.
