The Guest Relations Officer/Senior Guest Relations Officer welcomes guests, manages enquiries, handles feedback and service recovery, coordinates with hotel departments, and helps deliver a polished, personalized guest experience. Candidates typically need hospitality or hotel operations experience, strong English and Cantonese communication skills, and preferably Mandarin. The role requires professional presentation, excellent interpersonal skills, sound problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and confidence working in a busy luxury-hotel environment. Senior candidates are expected to guide junior colleagues, handle complex guest concerns, support VIP arrangements, and maintain Shangri-La service standards. Shift work, including weekends and public holidays, is normally required.
Shangri-La Group is a leading luxury hospitality company founded in Asia, operating hotels, resorts, and related hospitality businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international markets. Its brands are known for warm Asian hospitality, high service standards, and carefully designed guest experiences. Shangri-La hotels commonly provide accommodation, dining, meetings, wellness, and concierge services for leisure and business travelers. The group emphasizes genuine care, personalized service, professional development, and teamwork. In Hong Kong, Shangri-La properties serve a diverse international clientele and operate in a highly competitive luxury-hospitality market. Employees can gain exposure to premium guest service, VIP handling, multicultural operations, and established hotel procedures within a globally recognized organization.
Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, finance, technology, and international business. Its culture blends Chinese traditions with global influences; Cantonese is widely spoken, while English is common in business and hospitality, and Mandarin is increasingly useful. Life is energetic and convenient, with excellent public transport, varied food, shopping, nightlife, hiking, beaches, and nearby islands such as Lantau and Cheung Chau. Housing is expensive, so many employees share apartments or live in areas outside the main commercial districts. Foreign professionals generally need an employer-sponsored employment visa, and the job must meet immigration requirements. Employers often assist with documentation, but candidates should confirm benefits, accommodation, medical coverage, and relocation support. Hong Kong is well suited to adaptable people comfortable with fast-paced work, dense urban living, long service hours, and multicultural teams.
