The Marketing Coordinator will support Shangri-La’s marketing activities in the United Arab Emirates, including campaign coordination, content preparation, social media support, market research, brand communication and liaison with internal departments or external agencies. Candidates are generally expected to hold a degree or diploma in marketing, communications, business or a related field, with strong written and verbal communication skills. Good organisational ability, attention to detail, creativity and confidence using Microsoft Office and digital marketing platforms are important. Knowledge of the UAE market and hospitality industry is advantageous. As part of the Emiratisation Program, the role is intended for a UAE national and requires a professional, service-minded approach, willingness to learn and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Shangri-La is a global luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. The brand is known for personalised service, elegant properties and its Asian-inspired tradition of hospitality. In the UAE, Shangri-La operates high-end hotels and resorts serving leisure travellers, business guests, events and long-stay visitors. Employees typically work in a multicultural environment with strong emphasis on guest satisfaction, professional standards, teamwork and cultural awareness. The company offers opportunities across hotel operations, sales, marketing, finance, culinary services and corporate functions. Its Emiratisation initiatives support the development of UAE nationals through structured employment, practical experience and exposure to the international hospitality industry.
The UAE is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest range of hospitality, tourism, marketing and business opportunities. The culture combines Islamic traditions, Emirati heritage and a highly international population; modest dress and respect for local customs are expected. Lifestyle varies from busy city living and shopping to beaches, desert activities and quieter coastal communities. Housing, transport and healthcare are generally well developed, although Dubai and Abu Dhabi can be expensive. Employers normally sponsor work visas, residence permits and required medical checks after hiring. UAE nationals benefit from Emiratisation career programs, while expatriates must secure an employer-sponsored visa before working. Candidates relocating should confirm accommodation, insurance, transport, probation terms and whether the package includes flights or allowances.
