Working in Singapore

Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare, education and logistics. Hotel and resort roles are available for candidates with relevant experience, especially in front office, food and beverage, culinary operations, housekeeping, engineering and human resources. The culture is multicultural, orderly and generally professional, with English widely used at work. Lifestyle options include excellent public transport, international dining, shopping, museums, parks and easy access to beaches and neighbouring countries. Accommodation can be expensive, particularly near the city centre, so many employees share apartments or live near MRT lines. Foreign professionals normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass, subject to salary, qualifications and government approval. New arrivals should budget for rent, transport, healthcare and deposits, and confirm relocation assistance, insurance and visa arrangements with the employer before accepting an offer.
