The Human Resources Supervisor supports daily HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, employee records, attendance, payroll coordination, training administration, staff welfare and compliance with Indonesian employment regulations. Candidates are generally expected to have a diploma or degree in human resources, business administration or hospitality, along with several years of hotel or service-industry HR experience. Strong communication, organization, confidentiality and problem-solving skills are essential. Familiarity with Indonesian labour law, HR systems and Microsoft Office is desirable. The role requires a professional, approachable manner and the ability to support employees and department managers in a busy, multicultural resort or hotel environment.
Shangri-La is a Hong Kong-founded luxury hospitality group operating hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. Its properties are known for attentive service, comfortable accommodation, restaurants, wellness facilities and strong connections to local destinations. In Indonesia, Shangri-La has operated prominent hospitality properties serving business travellers, leisure guests, groups and events. The company places emphasis on warm Asian hospitality, colleague development, guest satisfaction and responsible business practices. Depending on the property, employees may receive service-charge participation, meals, uniforms, medical coverage, training and accommodation or relocation support. Working for Shangri-La can provide useful international hotel experience and opportunities to progress into broader HR or management positions.
Indonesia offers opportunities in hotels, resorts, tourism, restaurants, aviation, retail and corporate services, especially in Bali, Java, Lombok and major cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya. Bali is multicultural and tourism-focused, with a relaxed lifestyle, strong Hindu traditions, beaches and a large expatriate community. Java generally provides more urban amenities, transport links and corporate employment. Living costs vary considerably: Bali’s popular areas can be expensive, while smaller cities are more affordable. Respect local customs, dress appropriately at religious sites and learn basic Bahasa Indonesia. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and KITAS; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Confirm sponsorship, housing, insurance, tax and relocation arrangements with Shangri-La before accepting an offer. Weather is tropical, with wet and dry seasons, and travel between islands usually involves flights or ferries.
