The Housekeeping Coordinator supports the department’s daily administration and room-operations activities at Shangri-La Hong Kong. Typical responsibilities include coordinating room status updates, communicating with housekeeping attendants and the Front Office, handling guest requests, preparing reports, monitoring supplies, and maintaining accurate records. Candidates should have strong organisation, communication, and customer-service skills, together with attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced hotel environment. Previous experience in hotel housekeeping, rooms division, or office coordination is usually preferred. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays is expected, along with professional English; Cantonese and other languages are advantageous.
Shangri-La is a luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong and recognised for its service-focused hotels, resorts, and city properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other destinations. The group operates under brands including Shangri-La, Kerry Hotels, JEN by Shangri-La, and Traders. Shangri-La Hong Kong is a long-established five-star hotel in the Admiralty district, offering guest rooms, restaurants, event facilities, and extensive business and leisure services. The company places strong emphasis on Asian hospitality, personalised guest care, operational excellence, and employee development. Its hotel teams work across accommodation, food and beverage, engineering, finance, sales, wellness, and corporate support functions. Benefits and conditions vary by position, but hospitality employees may receive meals, uniforms, training, medical coverage, leave benefits, and discounted stays, subject to company policy.
Hong Kong is a compact international city with a strong hospitality, finance, retail, aviation, technology, and tourism job market. Although best known for Hong Kong Island, the territory also includes Kowloon and the New Territories, connected by an efficient rail and ferry network. Cantonese is the everyday language, while English is widely used in hotels and international workplaces. Life is energetic and convenient, with excellent public transport, dense urban neighbourhoods, mountain trails, beaches, shopping, and diverse food. Housing is expensive, so many employees share accommodation or live farther from Central. Foreign nationals generally need an employment visa sponsored by a local employer, and the role must meet immigration requirements. New arrivals should arrange a valid passport, employment contract, accommodation, health coverage, and local banking access. Public healthcare is available, but private insurance is useful.
