Candidates should have hospitality or sales experience, strong communication and negotiation skills, good knowledge of the Hong Kong market, and confidence using customer relationship and office systems. The successful candidate should be target-driven, well organised, presentable, commercially aware, and comfortable working flexible hours with hotel departments and clients.

About the employer

Shangri-La Group is a global luxury hospitality company founded in Hong Kong and recognised for its personalised service, elegant hotels, and Asian-inspired approach to guest care. The group operates luxury hotels, resorts, residences, and related hospitality businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international markets. Its Hong Kong properties serve business travellers, leisure guests, events, and high-end dining customers. Employees typically work in a multicultural environment where service standards, teamwork, professional presentation, and attention to detail are highly valued. Shangri-La offers opportunities across hotel operations, sales, food and beverage, finance, engineering, and corporate functions. A Sales Executive joining the company would support commercial performance while building relationships with clients and representing one of the region's best-known luxury hotel brands.

Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, luxury retail, finance, technology, events, and international business. Hotel sales professionals can find roles with major global brands, convention venues, airlines, and travel companies, although competition is high and Cantonese or Mandarin can improve prospects. The culture blends Chinese traditions with international influences, with efficient public transport, excellent dining, busy shopping districts, and an active social scene. Housing is expensive, particularly in central areas, so many residents live in Kowloon or the New Territories and commute by MTR. Hong Kong has a subtropical climate, hiking trails, beaches, and nearby islands for weekend escapes. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored employment visa, with approval based on qualifications, a genuine job offer, and market salary conditions. Relocating employees should arrange accommodation, insurance, banking, and tax registration before or soon after arrival.
