About the employer

Shangri-La Group is a Hong Kong-based luxury hospitality company with hotels, resorts and related properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. Its portfolio includes the Shangri-La, Kerry Hotels, JEN by Shangri-La and Traders brands. The group is known for service-led hospitality, high-quality accommodation, restaurants, meeting facilities and wellness experiences. Its corporate teams support a geographically diverse business covering hotel operations, property development, investments, finance, technology, legal affairs and human resources. Working for Shangri-La can provide exposure to sophisticated international projects and a multicultural professional environment, particularly for employees based in Hong Kong, the company’s long-standing corporate centre.

Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, finance, legal services, property, technology, retail and international business. Its culture blends Cantonese traditions with global influences, and English is widely used in professional settings; Cantonese and Mandarin are valuable additional languages. The lifestyle is energetic, convenient and highly urban, with efficient public transport, excellent dining, shopping, nightlife, hiking trails and beaches. Housing can be expensive, especially on Hong Kong Island and in central districts, so many professionals live in Kowloon or the New Territories. Overseas hires generally need an employment visa sponsored by their employer, usually under the General Employment Policy, and must provide qualifications and relevant experience. Dependants may normally apply for accompanying visas. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, insurance, banking and tax registration, and allow time to adjust to a fast-paced work culture.
