Working in Singapore

Singapore is a compact, highly developed island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, security, logistics, finance, technology and healthcare. Its culture blends Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, reflected in its food, festivals and neighbourhoods. Life is safe, efficient and convenient, with excellent public transport, healthcare and shopping, although rent and daily expenses can be high. Hospitality employees should expect multicultural workplaces, professional service standards and rotating shifts. Foreign workers generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary and occupation; approval is handled through Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower. Before relocating, candidates should confirm accommodation, medical coverage, transport, contract terms and pass eligibility. English is widely used, and learning basic local customs helps newcomers settle comfortably.
