Working in Singapore

Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, aviation, finance, technology, healthcare, and retail. Hospitality roles are concentrated around Orchard Road, Marina Bay, Sentosa, Changi, and major business districts. The culture is multicultural, orderly, and fast-paced, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay, and Tamil. Residents enjoy reliable public transport, excellent food centres, shopping, parks, beaches, and a safe urban lifestyle. Rent can be high, especially near central areas, so many newcomers share accommodation or live near MRT lines in suburban districts. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass; the Employment Pass is aimed at eligible professionals, while the S Pass or Work Permit may apply to other roles, subject to government requirements and quotas. Secure a written offer and approved pass before relocating.
