Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, events, retail, aviation and business services. The culture combines Emirati traditions, Islamic values and a highly international workforce; modest dress and respectful behavior are appreciated. Lifestyle varies from fast-paced urban living to beach, desert and mountain activities. Summer is extremely hot, while winter offers comfortable outdoor weather. Most overseas employees need employer-sponsored residence and work visas, usually arranged after an offer; medical checks, Emirates ID registration and document attestation may be required. UAE Nationals may receive additional support through Emiratization programs. Before relocating, confirm housing, transport, insurance, probation terms and whether meals or accommodation are included. Costs are highest in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
