The group operates hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets under the Shangri-La, Kerry, JEN and Traders brands. Its properties generally focus on high standards of guest care, dining, wellness, business facilities and event services. Shangri-La hotels place strong emphasis on colleague development, service excellence, cultural respect and creating warm, personalized experiences. In Hong Kong, the company has a long-standing presence and serves leisure travelers, corporate guests, local residents and international events. Working for the group can provide exposure to a multicultural luxury-hotel environment and opportunities for progression within a global hospitality organization.
Hong Kong is a compact, highly connected destination combining a major international business center with beaches, hiking trails, islands and dense urban neighborhoods. Employment opportunities are strong in hospitality, security, finance, retail, technology, logistics and professional services, although competition and living costs are high. The culture blends Cantonese traditions, international influences, festivals, excellent food and a fast-paced working style. Lifestyle options range from city nightlife and shopping to hiking, swimming and ferry trips to Lantau, Lamma and other outlying islands. Overseas employees generally need an approved employment visa before starting work; the employer normally sponsors the application and demonstrates that the role is genuine and suitably paid. Applicants should confirm visa eligibility, medical or document requirements and dependent arrangements. Housing is expensive, so relocation planning should include rent, transport, healthcare, taxes and insurance. The MTR and extensive public transport make commuting convenient.
