About the employer

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is a luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong and recognized for Asian-inspired service, gracious guest care, and high-quality accommodation. The group operates hotels, resorts, and related properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international markets. Shangri-La emphasizes warm hospitality, attention to detail, staff development, and personalized experiences for guests. Its Hong Kong properties serve business and leisure travelers and offer opportunities across housekeeping, food and beverage, front office, engineering, finance, and management. Benefits may include service charge, staff meals, training, uniforms, medical coverage, and discounted stays, depending on the property and employment contract.

Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong offers strong employment opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, finance, technology, and international business. The culture blends Cantonese traditions with global influences, and workplaces are generally fast-paced and service-oriented. Lifestyle options range from dense urban neighborhoods and excellent public transport to hiking trails, beaches, islands, and vibrant dining districts. Rent can be high, especially near major business areas, so shared accommodation or employer-provided housing may be useful. Foreign nationals normally need an employment visa sponsored by an employer before starting work; requirements include a valid job offer, suitable qualifications or experience, and proof that the role cannot easily be filled locally. Candidates should confirm visa support, salary, accommodation, working hours, and benefits directly with Shangri-La.
