Shangri-La Hong Kong properties serve luxury leisure travellers, corporate guests, groups and major events. Employees generally work in an international environment with opportunities to develop careers across hotel operations, sales, food and beverage, finance and other specialist functions. Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, hotel sales, tourism, retail, finance, technology and international business. The culture blends Cantonese traditions with global influences, and English is widely used in professional workplaces; Cantonese is valuable for customer-facing roles, while Mandarin can be an advantage. Life is energetic and convenient, with excellent public transport, diverse restaurants, shopping, hiking trails and beaches, although accommodation and daily expenses can be high. Most overseas professionals need an employment visa arranged through an approved employer, normally requiring a confirmed job and proof that the applicant has suitable qualifications or experience. Employers may assist with the application, but requirements should be checked with Hong Kong Immigration. New arrivals should budget for deposits, healthcare, transport and temporary accommodation before receiving their first salary.
