The Service Leader - Finance (Accounts Receivable) is expected to supervise daily receivables operations, including billing, collections, account reconciliation, payment posting, credit control, and month-end reporting. Candidates typically need a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, along with hotel finance experience and a strong understanding of accounting procedures. Familiarity with hospitality systems, spreadsheets, internal controls, and financial reporting is valuable. The role requires accuracy, integrity, organization, and the ability to lead and coach colleagues. Shangri-La will expect professional communication with guests, corporate clients, auditors, and other departments, as well as timely follow-up on outstanding balances and compliance with company policies.
Shangri-La is a leading luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong, with hotels, resorts, residences, and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international destinations. Its properties are known for warm Asian hospitality, high service standards, well-developed guest facilities, and a strong focus on personalized experiences. In the Philippines, Shangri-La operates prominent hotels and resorts in locations such as Manila, Cebu, and Boracay. Employees generally work in structured, multicultural environments with formal operating procedures, training programs, and opportunities to build careers in hotel management. The company places importance on guest satisfaction, teamwork, professional presentation, ethical conduct, and attention to detail. A finance leader supports the property by maintaining reliable records, protecting revenue, and ensuring that financial processes support smooth hotel operations.
The Philippines offers varied opportunities in hotels, resorts, tourism, finance, customer service, technology, healthcare, and business-process outsourcing. Major employment centers include Manila, Cebu, Clark, Davao, and resort destinations such as Boracay and Palawan. Filipino culture is generally welcoming, family-oriented, community-minded, and comfortable with English, which is widely used in business and hospitality. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living to relaxed coastal communities; costs are usually lower outside Manila, although popular resort islands can be expensive. The country has thousands of islands, with good opportunities for beaches, diving, food, festivals, and outdoor activities. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored Alien Employment Permit and an appropriate work visa, commonly a 9(g) pre-arranged employee visa. A tourist stay does not authorize employment. Candidates should confirm current immigration rules, contract benefits, housing, transport, and medical coverage before relocating.
