Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with extensive coastlines and resort destinations. Hospitality, tourism, events, aviation, retail, construction, technology and facilities management offer many employment opportunities. The culture combines Islamic traditions, Emirati heritage and a highly international population; respectful dress and behaviour are expected, especially during Ramadan. Lifestyle options range from beaches, shopping malls and desert activities to restaurants, nightlife and cultural attractions. Employers normally sponsor work visas, residence permits and medical checks for overseas employees, although the exact package varies. Candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, insurance, leave, probation and end-of-service benefits before accepting an offer. Living costs can be high, particularly in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, so employer-provided housing or allowances are valuable. Relocation usually requires a valid passport, authenticated documents where requested and a formal employment offer.
