Shangri-La is a leading luxury hospitality group founded in Hong6, with hotels and resorts across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other destinations. The company is known for warm Asian hospitality, high service standards, premium accommodation, restaurants, wellness facilities, and extensive meeting and event services. Its properties typically serve international business and leisure travelers and place strong emphasis on personalized guest care. Shangri-La supports professional development through structured training and offers employees opportunities to build careers across hotels and countries. In Indonesia, the group has operated well-known properties serving both domestic and international guests. Staff are generally expected to demonstrate courtesy, discretion, cultural sensitivity, teamwork, and consistent attention to detail.
Indonesia offers hospitality opportunities across Bali, Java, Lombok, Batam, and other resort islands. Bali has the largest concentration of international hotels, restaurants, wellness businesses, and tourism roles, while Jakarta and Surabaya provide stronger corporate and city-hotel opportunities. The culture is diverse, welcoming, and community-oriented, with Hindu traditions prominent in Bali and Muslim traditions common elsewhere. Lifestyle can range from busy urban living to relaxed beach communities, although traffic, humidity, and seasonal tourism pressures should be considered. Foreign employees generally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work permit and stay visa; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers commonly assist with immigration paperwork, accommodation, meals, insurance, or transport, but packages vary. Candidates should confirm salary, benefits, contract terms, medical coverage, and relocation support before accepting an offer.
