Working in Philippines

The Philippines offers career opportunities in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, business services, technology, finance, manufacturing, and education, with Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao serving as major employment centers. Filipino culture is generally welcoming, family-oriented, English-friendly, and relationship-driven; collaboration and respect are important in professional settings. Lifestyle options range from busy urban living in Manila to a more relaxed pace in Cebu, Davao, or coastal provinces. Living costs vary considerably, with housing and transport usually higher in central Manila. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and an appropriate visa, while requirements depend on nationality and assignment length. Companies commonly support relocation through immigration processing, temporary accommodation, and settling-in assistance. Applicants should verify current rules with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration and clarify healthcare coverage, taxation, housing, and travel expectations before relocating.
