About the employer

Oaks Hotels, Resorts & Suites is an Australian accommodation brand operated by Minor Hotels, an international hospitality group with properties across Australia, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Oaks provides serviced apartments, resorts and hotel accommodation for leisure and business travellers. Oaks Casuarina Santai Resort is located near Casuarina Beach in northern New South Wales and offers resort-style accommodation, dining and leisure facilities. The property focuses on comfortable guest experiences, professional service and well-maintained facilities. Housekeeping teams are central to this operation because room cleanliness, presentation and timely servicing strongly influence guest satisfaction. Employees may benefit from working within a larger hospitality network, with opportunities to gain practical hotel experience and progress into supervisory or other operational roles. Employment conditions vary according to the position, award coverage, experience and whether the role is casual, part-time or full-time.

Working in Australia

Australia is a large island country with strong employment opportunities in hospitality, tourism, healthcare, construction, agriculture, technology and education. Coastal destinations such as northern New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia offer resort and housekeeping work, while major cities provide broader career options. Australian culture is generally informal, diverse and multicultural, with an emphasis on punctuality, workplace safety and respectful communication. Lifestyle choices range from beaches and outdoor activities to vibrant cities, though housing and transport costs can be high. Foreign workers need the right visa and work permission; common options include Working Holiday visas, employer-sponsored visas, student visas with work limits and skilled migration pathways. Requirements depend on nationality, age, occupation and employer sponsorship. Before relocating, arrange a tax file number, bank account, health insurance and suitable accommodation. Casuarina has a relaxed coastal lifestyle, but a car may be useful for commuting and exploring the region.
