The resort provides holiday apartments and hotel-style facilities for leisure travellers, families and groups, including swimming pools, dining options and recreational amenities. It operates under Minor Hotels, an international hospitality group with a portfolio of hotels, resorts and serviced apartments across Australia and other regions. Oaks Hotels, Resorts and Suites is known for offering apartment-style accommodation in business and holiday destinations. Employees may benefit from the lifestyle of Far North Queensland, although the region has seasonal tourism demand and accommodation availability can vary.

Working in Australia

Australia is a large island nation with strong opportunities in tourism, hospitality, cleaning, construction, healthcare, agriculture and skilled trades. Port Douglas offers a relaxed coastal lifestyle, warm weather, outdoor activities and easy access to the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest. The local culture is friendly and multicultural, with an emphasis on outdoor living, workplace safety and service quality. Living costs, especially rent, can be high in popular tourist areas, and seasonal work may affect income and accommodation options. Visitors generally need an appropriate visa, such as a Working Holiday visa, employer-sponsored visa or another work-authorised status; visa conditions should be checked through the Australian Department of Home Affairs. Before relocating, arrange a tax file number, bank account, health cover, reliable transport and temporary accommodation. Port Douglas is smaller and more remote than major Australian cities, so planning is important.
