The Common Area Cleaner keeps public areas of Oaks Hervey Bay Resort and Spa clean, welcoming and safe. Duties may include cleaning lobbies, corridors, lifts, restrooms, recreational areas and other shared spaces, as well as replenishing supplies, removing rubbish and reporting maintenance or safety issues. Applicants should have good attention to detail, reliable attendance, a professional attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a housekeeping team. Previous commercial or hotel cleaning experience is useful but may not be essential. The role requires standing, bending, lifting and using cleaning equipment safely. Flexibility to work mornings, weekends and public holidays is generally expected in resort operations.
Oaks Hotels, Resorts & Suites is an Australian accommodation brand operated by Minor Hotels, an international hospitality group with properties across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Oaks provides serviced apartments, resorts and hotel accommodation for leisure and business travellers. Oaks Hervey Bay Resort and Spa is located in Queensland’s Fraser Coast region and offers resort-style facilities, including comfortable accommodation, leisure areas and spa services. The business relies on housekeeping and guest-service teams to maintain high standards and create a pleasant visitor experience. Employees can benefit from working within a recognised hotel group, with opportunities to gain experience in accommodation operations and progress into other hospitality roles. The resort environment is busy during holidays and peak travel periods, making reliability, teamwork and attention to presentation particularly important.
Australia offers hospitality and tourism work in resorts, hotels, restaurants, housekeeping and facilities management, especially in Queensland, coastal towns and major cities. Hervey Bay has a relaxed seaside lifestyle, warm weather, outdoor activities and strong tourism links to K’gari and whale-watching tours. Living costs are generally lower than in Sydney or Melbourne, although rent and transport should still be planned carefully. Australian workplaces value punctuality, safety, teamwork and friendly service, with employees usually covered by minimum wage and workplace regulations. International workers may use a Working Holiday visa, employer-sponsored visa or another eligible work visa, depending on nationality, age, qualifications and job circumstances. Before relocating, arrange valid work rights, tax and bank accounts, accommodation, health insurance and reliable transport. English communication is important, and resort work may involve weekend, evening and public-holiday shifts.
