The Golf & Leisure Attendant supports the daily operation of the resort’s golf and leisure facilities. Responsibilities may include preparing golf carts and equipment, assisting guests with bookings and general enquiries, maintaining recreational areas, providing friendly service, and following health, safety and resort procedures. Applicants should have strong customer-service and communication skills, a positive and reliable attitude, good attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Previous experience in golf, leisure, hospitality or recreation is helpful but may not be essential. The role requires flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and varying shifts, plus a professional presentation and willingness to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
AVANI Cypress Lakes Resort is a golf and leisure resort located in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales, surrounded by vineyards, landscaped grounds and scenic countryside. The resort forms part of Minor Hotels, an international hospitality group operating hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Africa and Australia. Cypress Lakes offers accommodation, golf facilities, leisure amenities, dining, events and conference services for holidaymakers, wedding parties, corporate guests and local visitors. AVANI is positioned as a contemporary hospitality brand focused on comfortable stays, thoughtful service and relaxed guest experiences. Employees work in a resort environment where teamwork, presentation, guest care and operational flexibility are important. The property provides an opportunity to build experience across golf operations, tourism, hospitality and broader resort services in one of Australia’s best-known regional food and wine destinations.
Australia is a large country rather than a single island destination, offering hospitality, tourism and leisure jobs in cities, coastal resorts, regional towns and remote destinations. Opportunities are common in hotels, restaurants, golf resorts, tour companies, housekeeping, events and food production. Australian workplaces are generally informal, multicultural and focused on safety, punctuality, teamwork and respectful communication. Lifestyle varies from busy cities to relaxed coastal or rural communities; the Hunter Valley offers vineyards, national parks, beaches within driving distance and a slower regional pace. Most overseas workers need a suitable visa, such as a Working Holiday visa, employer-sponsored visa or skilled visa, depending on nationality, age, qualifications and occupation. Applicants should check work rights, health insurance, tax, accommodation and transport before relocating. Regional resort jobs may offer valuable experience and, for some visa holders, eligible regional work toward further visa benefits.
