The Ataccama Data Governance and Catalog Engineer is expected to configure, administer and enhance Ataccama data governance, metadata management and data catalog solutions. Responsibilities may include building data domains, glossaries, classifications, workflows, ownership models and data-quality rules, while integrating the platform with enterprise data sources. Candidates should have experience with Ataccama or comparable data-governance tools, metadata management, SQL, data-quality concepts and enterprise data environments. Strong communication skills are important because the role involves working with data owners, analysts, technical teams and business stakeholders. Knowledge of APIs, scripting, cloud platforms and governance frameworks such as DAMA or COBIT would be advantageous. A consulting mindset, structured problem-solving ability and willingness to support Capgemini client projects are also expected.
Capgemini is a global consulting, technology services and digital transformation company headquartered in France. It helps organizations modernize technology, improve operations and create digital products across sectors such as financial services, manufacturing, telecommunications, healthcare and public services. Its services include cloud, data and artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, engineering, software development and business consulting. Capgemini works with major technology partners and delivers projects through international teams, giving employees opportunities to support large, complex client environments. In Malaysia, the company operates delivery and consulting teams serving local and regional customers. Employees commonly work in collaborative, multicultural settings, with opportunities for training, certification and exposure to global projects. The exact responsibilities, benefits and working arrangements depend on the business unit and client assignment.
Malaysia offers varied work and lifestyle choices across Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo. Kuala Lumpur and nearby Selangor provide the widest opportunities in consulting, technology, shared services, finance and data engineering, with strong public transport and a busy urban lifestyle. Penang is popular for technology, electronics and manufacturing, while Johor benefits from proximity to Singapore. Sabah and Sarawak offer growing opportunities in energy, services and digital projects, alongside a slower pace and excellent nature. Popular islands such as Langkawi, Tioman, Redang and the Perhentians are mainly leisure destinations rather than major employment centers. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous influences; English is widely used in professional workplaces. Living costs are moderate, though central Kuala Lumpur is more expensive. Foreign professionals generally need employer sponsorship for an employment pass, and should confirm eligibility, qualifications, medical checks and dependent arrangements before relocating.
