Working in Malaysia

Malaysia offers strong technology employment opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Cyberjaya, Penang and Johor, particularly in consulting, shared services, software, cloud, SAP and project delivery. Kuala Lumpur provides the broadest career market, international schools, healthcare and modern urban amenities, while Penang combines technology jobs with a more relaxed coastal lifestyle. Malaysia is culturally diverse, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and international influences. English is widely used in professional settings, and food, public transport and housing can be relatively affordable compared with many regional capitals. Beaches and island destinations such as Langkawi, Tioman and the Perhentian Islands are popular for weekends and holidays. Foreign employees generally require an Employment Pass sponsored by their employer; approval depends on salary, qualifications and role. Relocating workers should arrange valid documentation, suitable health insurance and accommodation before arrival, and confirm tax and work-permit requirements with Capgemini or Malaysian authorities.
