MAS Holdings is a major Sri Lankan apparel and textile manufacturer with operations across Asia, Europe and other global markets. Established in 1987, the privately held group supplies leading international fashion and sportswear brands through a wide portfolio of manufacturing, design, innovation and supply-chain businesses. MAS is known for product development, sustainable manufacturing, ethical workplace practices and advanced apparel solutions, including sportswear, lingerie, swimwear and performance clothing. The company employs a large international workforce and invests in technology, research, employee development and community initiatives. Its businesses work closely with global customers from concept and design through sourcing, production and delivery. An internship at MAS can provide practical exposure to international apparel merchandising, factory operations, customer requirements, production planning and cross-functional teamwork.
Sri Lanka offers opportunities in apparel and textiles, information technology, tourism, finance, logistics, engineering and agriculture, with Colombo and nearby industrial zones serving as major employment centres. The island has a warm tropical climate, affordable living compared with many international destinations, diverse food, scenic beaches, mountains and a strong public transport network. Sinhala and Tamil are official languages, while English is widely used in business and education. Family-oriented communities, religious diversity and welcoming social traditions are important aspects of local culture. Foreign nationals normally need an appropriate employment visa or residence permission arranged with employer support; a tourist visa does not permit regular employment. Interns should confirm sponsorship, insurance, accommodation and work authorization before travelling. Colombo generally has the broadest housing, healthcare and professional services, while factory locations may offer a quieter and less expensive lifestyle.
