MAS Holdings is one of South Asia’s leading apparel and textile manufacturers, headquartered in Sri Lanka. The group supplies innovative clothing, intimate wear, sportswear, and wearable solutions to internationally recognized brands. Its business covers design, product development, manufacturing, sustainability, and supply-chain services, with operations and partnerships across several countries. MAS is known for investing in technology, employee development, ethical manufacturing, and environmentally responsible production. The company employs a large and diverse workforce and offers opportunities in manufacturing, engineering, merchandising, finance, information technology, human resources, and corporate services. An HR and Administration internship at MAS can provide exposure to people operations within a large, structured, and internationally connected organization, while helping the intern understand workplace policies, employee engagement, recruitment processes, and day-to-day administration.
Sri Lanka offers opportunities in apparel manufacturing, information technology, tourism, finance, logistics, engineering, healthcare, education, and business services. Colombo and nearby areas have the greatest concentration of corporate and industrial jobs, while Kandy, Galle, and other regional centers provide additional opportunities. The culture is welcoming and diverse, influenced by Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim, and colonial traditions. Life is generally affordable, with excellent food, beaches, mountains, wildlife, and a relaxed social atmosphere. Public transport is inexpensive, though traffic can be heavy. Foreign nationals normally need an appropriate employment visa or residence authorization sponsored by an employer; tourists cannot legally work. Interns should confirm visa eligibility, accommodation, insurance, taxes, and documentation before relocating. English is widely used in business, while Sinhala and Tamil are the main local languages. Colombo offers the broadest professional network and modern amenities.
