About the employer

MAS Holdings is one of South Asia’s leading apparel and textile manufacturers, headquartered in Sri Lanka. The company partners with many globally recognised fashion and sportswear brands and operates across design, product development, manufacturing, technology, and supply chain services. MAS is known for innovation, ethical manufacturing, sustainability, and its focus on creating high-value apparel solutions rather than serving only as a conventional garment producer. Its businesses operate across several countries and employ a large international workforce. The company offers opportunities in fashion design, engineering, product development, production, quality, merchandising, technology, and corporate functions. A design internship at MAS can provide exposure to professional apparel development, international customer expectations, materials, production processes, and collaborative work with experienced industry specialists.

Working in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is an island nation with growing opportunities in apparel, manufacturing, IT, tourism, logistics, finance, and services. Colombo and nearby areas offer the widest range of professional and internship opportunities, while other regions are important for manufacturing and tourism. The culture is welcoming and diverse, with Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim, and other communities, and English is widely used in business. Living costs are generally lower than in many Western countries, although Colombo is more expensive than rural areas. The island offers beaches, mountains, wildlife, historic cities, and a relaxed lifestyle, with warm weather throughout the year. Foreign nationals normally need an appropriate employment visa or residence approval arranged with employer support; tourists cannot legally work. Interns should confirm sponsorship, accommodation, insurance, transport, and local registration requirements before relocating. Public transport is affordable, though traffic can be heavy around Colombo.
