The Chinese Restaurant Manager is responsible for the daily operation of the restaurant, including service standards, guest satisfaction, team supervision, sales performance, cost control and compliance with hotel policies. Candidates should have several years of experience managing a Chinese or upscale restaurant, strong knowledge of Chinese cuisine and beverage service, and proven leadership skills. Good English communication is normally required; Mandarin or Indonesian would be an advantage. The successful candidate is expected to be guest-focused, commercially aware, well organised and confident in training staff, handling complaints, coordinating with the kitchen and maintaining Shangri-La’s service standards.
Shangri-La is a luxury hospitality group founded in Asia and recognised internationally for its hotels, resorts and distinctive service culture. The group operates properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other destinations, offering accommodation, restaurants, meeting facilities and wellness services. Shangri-La promotes warm, personalised hospitality and places strong emphasis on guest care, operational excellence and employee development. In Indonesia, its properties have served business and leisure travellers through premium accommodation, dining and event experiences. Employees may receive structured training, service-charge opportunities, meals, uniforms and other benefits depending on the property and employment contract. The company generally looks for team members who are professional, culturally aware, reliable and committed to delivering high standards in a diverse international environment.
Indonesia offers hospitality opportunities across Bali, Java, Lombok and other resort islands, with jobs in hotels, restaurants, events, wellness and tourism. Bali is the most internationally oriented destination, while Jakarta and Surabaya provide stronger corporate and city-hotel markets. Life can combine tropical weather, beaches, outdoor activities and a relaxed social culture, although traffic, humidity and seasonal tourism peaks can be challenging. Indonesian culture values politeness, community, religious diversity and respect for local customs; appropriate dress and behaviour are important outside resort areas. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work permit and stay visa before starting work. The employer generally handles much of the process, but requirements can change, so confirmation with the company and Indonesian immigration authorities is essential. Candidates should budget for housing, transport, insurance and relocation costs, and clarify accommodation, service charge, tax and flights in the employment package.
