Working in Singapore

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, events, finance, technology, healthcare and retail. Hotels and resorts regularly recruit people in guest services, food and beverage, housekeeping, events, engineering and management. The culture is multicultural, efficient and generally respectful, with English widely used at work alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Lifestyle options include excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, museums, parks and easy access to regional travel. Singapore is safe but relatively expensive, especially for rent and childcare. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work pass; the Employment Pass is generally for professional roles meeting salary and qualification criteria, while the S Pass applies to eligible skilled workers subject to quotas. Candidates should secure a job offer before relocating, confirm pass eligibility, budget for housing and healthcare, and understand local employment and tax requirements.
