The Housekeeping Coordinator supports the department by coordinating room assignments, housekeeping requests, maintenance follow-ups, lost-and-found records, inventory, and communication between housekeeping, front office, and other hotel teams. Candidates should have previous hotel or administrative experience, strong organisational and communication skills, attention to detail, and basic computer knowledge. The role requires a professional, service-focused attitude, flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays, and the ability to remain calm while handling multiple requests. Good English is generally required; Cantonese and other languages may be advantageous. The successful candidate is expected to maintain accurate records, respond promptly to guest and colleague needs, protect guest privacy, and uphold Shangri-La’s service and cleanliness standards.
Shangri-La is an international luxury hospitality group founded in Asia and known for its hotels, resorts, and distinctive service culture. The group operates properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other major destinations, offering accommodation, dining, wellness, events, and business facilities. Shangri-La hotels are recognised for attentive service, elegant surroundings, and a strong focus on guest comfort. Its Hong Kong properties serve leisure travellers, corporate guests, families, and large events, creating opportunities across rooms, food and beverage, culinary operations, engineering, finance, and guest services. Employees typically work in multicultural teams and are expected to demonstrate courtesy, professionalism, discretion, and consistent attention to detail. The company also promotes training and internal career development, making it a significant employer within Hong Kong’s luxury hotel industry.
Hong Kong offers extensive opportunities in luxury hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, finance, technology, and international business. The culture combines Cantonese traditions, Chinese festivals, international influences, and a fast-paced, service-oriented working environment. Life is convenient, with excellent public transport, diverse food, lively neighbourhoods, hiking trails, beaches, and easy access to nearby islands and mainland China. Housing can be expensive, especially near central areas, so many employees share accommodation or live in districts such as Kowloon or the New Territories. Foreign workers generally need an employment visa arranged with employer support before starting work; eligibility depends on qualifications, salary, and a confirmed job offer. Applicants should prepare passport, education, employment, and reference documents. Health checks and immigration approval may also be required. Cantonese is valuable locally, while English is widely used in hotels and international workplaces.
