The Sales Executive is expected to support Shangri-La’s hotel sales strategy by identifying and developing business opportunities, maintaining relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, event planners and other partners, and promoting the hotel’s rooms, dining and meeting facilities. Typical requirements include relevant experience in hotel sales, hospitality or customer-facing business development, strong communication and negotiation skills, professional presentation, commercial awareness and good knowledge of the Hong Kong market. The candidate should be target-driven, organised, proactive and comfortable working with different departments. Fluency in English and Cantonese is generally valuable, while Mandarin and experience with luxury hospitality or international accounts may be advantageous.
Shangri-La Group is a major luxury hospitality company headquartered in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts and related properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and other international markets. Its portfolio includes the Shangri-La, Kerry, JEN and Traders brands, serving business and leisure travellers through upscale accommodation, restaurants, wellness facilities, meeting spaces and personalised service. The group is known for its Asian heritage, emphasis on genuine hospitality and high service standards. Employees commonly work in multicultural teams and may benefit from structured training, career development and opportunities across different properties. In Hong Kong, Shangri-La operates well-established luxury hotels serving corporate clients, tourists, conferences and social events. Sales employees are expected to represent the brand professionally while building long-term relationships and contributing to revenue growth.
Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, retail, finance, technology, logistics and professional services. The culture blends Cantonese traditions with international influences, and English is widely used in business, while Cantonese is important for many customer-facing roles. Life is energetic and convenient, with excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, hiking trails and beaches, although housing can be expensive and space is limited. Foreign professionals generally need an appropriate employment visa, usually sponsored by an employer, with approval based on qualifications, experience and the availability of a suitable job. Most newcomers arrange accommodation, medical coverage, banking and an identity card after arrival. Hong Kong is highly connected internationally, but work can be fast-paced and competitive. New employees should budget carefully for rent and consider living in areas connected by the MTR.
