This six-month contract role leads the design, review and administration of employee rewards and benefits across Shangri-La’s operations. Responsibilities are likely to include compensation benchmarking, salary reviews, incentive plans, benefits governance, policy development, HR analytics and advising senior stakeholders. Candidates should have substantial experience in compensation and benefits, preferably within a large hospitality, hotel or multinational environment. Strong knowledge of Hong Kong employment practices, market data, HR systems and total-rewards strategy is expected. The successful candidate should be commercially minded, analytical, discreet and confident working with senior leaders. Excellent communication, stakeholder-management and project-delivery skills are essential, along with the ability to manage sensitive information and deliver improvements within a short contract period.
Shangri-La Group is a major luxury hospitality company headquartered in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. Its portfolio includes the Shangri-La, Kerry Hotels, JEN by Shangri-La and Traders brands. The group is known for personalised service, premium accommodation, restaurants, wellness facilities and destination-focused experiences. Shangri-La employs a large, multicultural workforce and supports corporate functions covering human resources, finance, technology, commercial strategy and operations. Its Hong Kong base provides exposure to regional and global initiatives, making this rewards and benefits position relevant to someone experienced in complex, multi-property organisations. The company generally places strong emphasis on service culture, employee development, operational excellence and maintaining competitive talent practices across its markets.
Hong Kong is a compact, energetic destination with strong opportunities in hospitality, finance, technology, retail, professional services and regional corporate roles. English is widely used in business, while Cantonese and Mandarin are valuable for many customer-facing positions. The culture combines Chinese traditions, international influences, efficient public services and a fast-paced working style. Life offers excellent restaurants, shopping, hiking, beaches and reliable public transport, although housing is expensive and apartments are often small. For employment, most overseas professionals need an employment visa sponsored by a Hong Kong employer; applications normally require a confirmed offer, relevant qualifications or experience and proof that the role cannot easily be filled locally. Dependants may usually apply for dependant visas. New arrivals should budget for rental deposits, healthcare, transport and insurance, and confirm whether the employer provides accommodation, relocation support or tax guidance. Hong Kong is technically not an island-only destination, but Hong Kong Island is one of its main urban areas.
