The Service Leader – HR supports the hotel’s Human Resources function by assisting with recruitment, onboarding, employee records, staff engagement, training coordination, policy administration and day-to-day employee enquiries. Candidates generally need a degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, together with relevant hotel or HR experience. Strong communication, organisation, confidentiality and problem-solving skills are expected. The successful candidate should be service-minded, approachable and able to work effectively with employees and managers in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Familiarity with Philippine labour regulations, HR systems and hotel operations is advantageous. Flexibility to work around operational schedules and a professional commitment to Shangri-La’s service standards are also important.
Shangri-La Group is a major luxury hospitality company founded in Hong Kong, with hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. Its portfolio includes the Shangri-La, Kerry, JEN and Traders brands. Shangri-La properties are known for personalised service, comfortable facilities, distinctive dining and strong connections with local communities. In the Philippines, the group operates recognised hotels and resorts in destinations such as Manila, Cebu and Boracay. The company places considerable emphasis on guest satisfaction, employee development, cultural awareness and responsible business practices. A Human Resources Service Leader typically works closely with department heads and colleagues to maintain a positive workplace, support staffing needs and ensure that employment practices meet company standards and Philippine regulations.
The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities across Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Bohol and other resort destinations. Jobs are commonly available in hotels, restaurants, tourism, diving, wellness and events, with stronger seasonal demand in popular beach areas. Filipino culture is warm, family-oriented and community-focused, while English is widely used in business and hotels. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living to relaxed island communities; living costs are generally lower outside Manila, although resort islands can be expensive. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, while Filipino applicants require standard employment documents and government registrations. Relocating staff should arrange accommodation, health insurance, banking access and transport before arrival. Typhoons, heat and seasonal tourism fluctuations should be considered. Each island has its own pace, attractions and employment conditions, so applicants should confirm the exact property location and benefits with Shangri-La.
