Shangri-La Singapore is a luxury city resort located on Orange Grove Road, near Orchard Road. It is part of Shangri-La Group, an international hospitality company founded in Asia and known for its luxury hotels, resorts and distinctive Asian hospitality. The Singapore property offers extensive accommodation, restaurants and bars, meeting and event facilities, gardens, recreation areas and family-friendly amenities. The hotel serves leisure travellers, business guests, groups and major events, requiring a large and diverse team across guest services, food and beverage, engineering, housekeeping, finance and security. Shangri-La places strong emphasis on warm service, operational excellence, employee development, safety and creating memorable guest experiences. Working there generally involves a multicultural environment, high service standards, structured procedures and close cooperation between departments.
Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, aviation, finance, technology, healthcare and logistics. Hotel roles are available across luxury resorts, business hotels and restaurants, although competition can be considerable. The culture is multicultural, orderly and generally respectful, with English widely used at work alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. The lifestyle is convenient and safe, with excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, parks and easy regional travel. Living costs, especially rent, are high; shared accommodation can reduce expenses. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary and occupation. Employers typically arrange or support the application. Candidates should verify current Ministry of Manpower requirements before relocating, budget for deposits and healthcare, and confirm accommodation, shifts, benefits and pass eligibility in the employment offer.
