The Floor Supervisor is expected to oversee daily restaurant floor operations, coordinate service teams, maintain Shangri-La’s hospitality standards, and ensure guests receive efficient, courteous service. Typical requirements include relevant experience in hotel or restaurant operations, strong communication and leadership skills, good knowledge of food and beverage service, and the ability to manage guest requests or complaints professionally. Fluency in English is generally required; Cantonese and Mandarin are valuable in Hong Kong. The successful candidate should be organised, attentive to detail, comfortable working shifts, and able to remain calm during busy periods. Training junior colleagues, monitoring service quality, supporting opening and closing duties, and following health, safety and company procedures are also expected.
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is a luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong and recognised for its personalised service, elegant properties and strong Asian heritage. The group operates hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. Its Hong Kong properties serve business travellers, leisure guests, local residents and major events, with restaurants, bars, meeting facilities and wellness services. Shangri-La places emphasis on gracious hospitality, professional development, teamwork and creating memorable guest experiences. Employees may receive benefits such as staff dining, uniform provision, medical coverage, training and hotel-related discounts, although the exact package depends on the property and employment contract.
Hong Kong offers substantial opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, finance, technology and professional services. The culture blends Chinese traditions with international influences; Cantonese is widely spoken, while English is common in business and hospitality. Life is fast-paced, highly connected and convenient, with excellent public transport, diverse food, vibrant neighbourhoods and easy access to beaches, hiking trails and outlying islands. Accommodation can be expensive, especially near Central, Kowloon and major business districts, so many employees share flats or live farther from work. Overseas candidates normally need an employment visa sponsored by a Hong Kong employer, and the role must meet immigration requirements. Applicants should prepare qualifications, references and proof of experience. Before relocating, confirm salary, housing costs, insurance, working hours, visa support and contract terms.
