Indonesia offers opportunities in hospitality, tourism, property management, engineering, security, food and beverage, wellness and marine recreation. Bali is the best-known international hub, while Lombok, Batam, Bintan, Java and the wider archipelago offer growing resort and residential projects. Local culture values courtesy, community, religious diversity and respectful behaviour; customs differ significantly between islands. Lifestyle ranges from busy urban living to relaxed beach communities, with generally warm weather, varied food and affordable daily costs, although popular resort areas can be expensive. Foreign nationals normally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work visa or work permit before starting employment; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers often assist with immigration, accommodation, airport transfers and insurance, but this should be confirmed in writing. Research transport, healthcare, housing, taxation and rainy-season conditions before relocating.
