Working in Singapore

Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, retail, finance, technology, healthcare and logistics. Its multicultural society blends Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, reflected in festivals, languages and an excellent food culture. Life is modern, safe and highly connected, with reliable public transport, clean neighbourhoods, shopping centres, parks and easy access to beaches and nearby countries. Accommodation can be expensive, so many employees share apartments or live farther from the city centre. Foreign hires generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or relevant work permit; approval depends on salary, qualifications, experience and current regulations. Employers usually guide successful candidates through the application process. New arrivals should budget for rent, transport, healthcare and deposits, and verify employment terms before relocating.
