The Assistant Manager, Brands (Strategy & Guardianship) supports Shangri-La’s brand strategy, positioning and standards across markets and business units. Responsibilities may include coordinating brand initiatives, maintaining brand guidelines, reviewing communications and creative materials, supporting research and insights, and working with hotels and corporate teams to ensure consistent brand expression. Candidates should typically have a degree in marketing, communications, business or hospitality, with several years of experience in brand management, marketing or a related field. Strong project management, presentation, writing and stakeholder-management skills are expected. Experience in luxury hospitality, a regional role and knowledge of Asian markets would be advantageous. Fluency in English is essential; Cantonese or Mandarin may be useful.
Shangri-La Group is a Hong Kong-based luxury hospitality company with a global portfolio of hotels, resorts and related businesses. Founded in 1971, the group operates properties under the Shangri-La, Kerry, JEN and Traders brands across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other destinations. It is known for warm Asian hospitality, high service standards, premium accommodation, extensive dining facilities and resort experiences. The corporate office in Hong Kong supports brand development, operations, commercial strategy, technology and other group functions. Working for Shangri-La can provide exposure to a multicultural environment and a wide international hotel network. Brand-focused roles typically involve collaboration with property teams, corporate leadership, creative agencies and regional stakeholders to strengthen customer recognition and ensure that each brand is represented consistently while remaining relevant to local markets.
Hong Kong is a compact, highly connected city and territory made up of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, the New Territories and many outlying islands. It offers strong opportunities in hospitality, finance, retail, technology, aviation, professional services and international business. The culture blends Chinese traditions with global influences; Cantonese is widely spoken, while English is common in business. Lifestyle options range from Michelin-listed restaurants and lively nightlife to hiking, beaches, museums and country parks. Housing is convenient but expensive, especially near Central and popular urban districts, while public transport is fast and reliable. Overseas employees generally need an employment visa sponsored by their Hong Kong employer before starting work. The employer normally demonstrates that the role is genuine and that the candidate has suitable qualifications and experience. New arrivals should budget for deposits, private healthcare considerations and a high cost of living, and arrange accommodation and documentation before relocation.
