The Floor Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping operations on an assigned floor, ensuring guest rooms, corridors and service areas meet Shangri-La standards. Requirements typically include previous hotel housekeeping experience, supervisory ability, attention to detail, good communication skills and familiarity with cleaning procedures and guest-service practices. Cantonese, English or Mandarin may be beneficial in Hong Kong. The successful candidate is expected to inspect rooms, allocate duties, coach team members, manage guest requests, report maintenance issues and maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety and presentation. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays is normally required.
Shangri-La is a leading luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong, with hotels, resorts and related properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international destinations. The group is known for warm Asian hospitality, high-quality accommodation, restaurants, wellness facilities and attentive personalised service. Its Hong Kong properties are prominent in the city’s luxury hotel market and serve business travellers, leisure guests, families and major events. Shangri-La places strong emphasis on service excellence, employee development, teamwork and creating memorable guest experiences. Roles within the company commonly offer structured operational training, exposure to international hospitality standards and opportunities for career progression across departments and locations.
Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, finance, technology and international business. The culture blends Cantonese traditions with global influences, and employees can enjoy excellent food, festivals, shopping, hiking and a lively arts scene. Housing is expensive, but public transport is highly efficient and many districts are well connected by MTR, buses and ferries. Overseas applicants generally need an approved employment visa sponsored by the employer before starting work; eligibility depends on qualifications, experience, salary and proof that the role cannot readily be filled locally. Employers usually provide visa documentation, while candidates arrange passports, certificates and background checks. Relocation is easiest with employer guidance, although newcomers should budget carefully for rent, deposits, healthcare and daily expenses. Hong Kong’s fast-paced lifestyle suits adaptable people comfortable with dense urban living and varied work schedules.
