Working in Indonesia

For an Indonesia-based hospitality role, Bali is the most familiar destination for international workers, although opportunities also exist in Java, Lombok, Batam, and other resort islands. Hotels and resorts regularly recruit managers in food and beverage, rooms, culinary operations, sales, wellness, and guest services. Bali offers a warm climate, beaches, diverse restaurants, strong expatriate communities, and a relaxed lifestyle, while local Balinese Hindu traditions, ceremonies, and community values remain central to daily life. Living costs vary considerably by area, with resort districts generally more expensive than inland towns. Foreign employees normally need employer-sponsored work authorization, commonly including a work permit process and KITAS; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, housing, insurance, taxes, flights, and relocation support in the employment contract before accepting an offer.
